30 Things Catch Up

With the busy weekend we had I am behind in the 30 Things series.  Since I did not have a lot to write for most of the ones I missed I decided to make a catch up post with them all.  Here you go:

9. List 10 people who have influenced you-  Wow 10, that is a lot.  How about I just list who I can.  Mom, Dad, Justin, Mrs. Hermsdorfer, Dr. MacDonald, Ms. Stauffer, Ellen Rech, and Ms Sterling.

10. Describe your most embarrassing moment.- What moment is not embarrassing with me!  I would have to say the most recent car issues I have had.  You can read about the New York car issue here.  The other incident happened last Thur when I apparently was so wrapped up in my morning call that I left my car running at 8am in the parking lot.  I did not know about it until my admin came running over to me frantically to tell me security notified her that my car was running in the lot.  This was at 1pm so sure enough 5 hours and 1/4 a tank of gas later, I finally turned off my car.

11. Describe 10 pet peeves you have.- I don't think I have 10 but here are some of mine.
1. People who cancel meetings same day as the meeting, even worse they are canceled just as you are dialing in.  2. Loud tvs.  3. People who hold up the line at the check out by paying with a check or chatting with the cashier excessively.  4. People who pee on the seat and do not clean it.

12. Describe a typical day in your current life.- Oh it is so exciting :).  Wake up, eat breakfast, drive to work, work until 4:00pm, drive home, Mon-Thur go to aqua fit at 5:40-7:10pm., have dinner and watch a show with Justin, pay XBox with Justin or watch him, go to bed around 11:30 or Midnight.  If it is Friday we go to Taco Bell and run errands.  It might sound routine but it works for us!

13. Describe 5 weaknesses you have.- 1. Crying at sappy movies or books.  2. Keeping a secret about gifts from Justin. 3. My sweet husband and boys. 4. Mascots 5. Crafts.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It is time again for another installment of What I'm Loving Wednesday.

*one*
I played the lotto for the first time yesterday.  The Mega Millions is getting pretty high.  I bought 3 tickets and got a match on one number and the mega ball so I won $3 enough to break even.  I am going to turn in my ticket and use the $3 to buy my ticket for Friday.

*two*

Hunger Games- Well I decided to read the books because of the movie and my co worker keeps pressuring me to.  I finished the first book and like it a lot.  I am now on the second book (Catching Fire) and am still enjoying it.  I still probably will not see the movie until it comes out on DVD.

*three*

My friend Bonnie and I are headed to Archiver's for the first time since August for Saturday afternoon crop this Sat.  I am excited to get working on my SMASH books some more.

I have my photos all printed but need to pack up my scrapbooking bag.  Can't wait for crafting fun!

Draw Something app.  What a fun new app to play with your friends.  It is just like pictionary.

*five*
As usual I am still loving the hubby, my family, my boys, aqua fit, my friends, Taco Bell, work, and life!!

Hey Muggles Exciting News

So I was talking on the phone to Lauren Monday about how I wish the Harry Potter series was on the Nook.  I want to read the books again but I don't want to lug them around.  I especially want to read the last few books as I did not really get a chance before.

Well to my delighted surprise when I opened my email Tuesday morning there was an email from Barnes and Noble announcing Harry Potter has come to the Nook.  What timing!

Yesterday I bought Goblet of Fire, Half Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows.  I can't wait to start reading the books again!  So you don't buy the books from Barnes and Noble but from J K Rowling's site Pottermore.com.  It is pretty cool because the books are open format and once you buy the book you can install it on 8 different devices.  So you can put the same book and both Nook and Kindle.  So cool!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had such a great weekend.  After a quick trip to Taco Bell and Walmart we hit the road for Peoria.  Friday night we got there about 10pm and pretty much went to bed not too long after.  Saturday we headed over to New Castle Bible Church to attend Darin and Lusi's wedding reception.  The party was in the youth center, which we had never been to before.

After the reception we went back to Justin's parents.  I tried to use the hot tub but it was 107 degrees and the controls would not work.  Around 5pm we went to Darin and Lusi's to watch them open their gifts.  Darin's mom's family from Iowa where there and so was Kevin's friend Jon.  Darin and Lusi got a lot of nice gifts and we had a good time.  Afterwards we headed to Sarah and Joel's and we went to Avanti's in East Peoria for dinner.  We had not had their food in almost 10 years!! We got cheeseballs, garlic bread, gondolas, pizza, and Tortellini.

It was funny because we even saw Darin's family at Avanti's.  After dinner we went back to Sarah and Joel's where we talked and I worked on so knitting.  We had a great time hanging out with them and catching up.
Sunday we headed home early and stopped at the Half Price Books in Countryside, IL.  It was pretty crowded and we had some magazines to sell.  We only got $2 for them but that is better than nothing.  I found 2 magazines and 2 weight watcher cookbooks.  One was a 20 minute meals book I had wanted for awhile and the other was all about pizza, yum!  Once we got home I watched some shows and then we made individual pizzas for dinner which came out so good.  Such a great weekend!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Linking up with The Little Things We Do for another fabulous Fill in the Blank Friday

1.  My favorite color is     green   .

2.   My home decor color palette includes   whatever we like.  The bedspread has pinks and purples, our walls are Pottery Barn colors (light green, yellow, clay, beige), our furniture is darker wood and the couches are brown.  A hodge podge of colors .

3.  Other people always tell me I look good in the color     black and white or green.  I have brown hair and olive skin so for some reason sometimes red looks weird on me.  I also look bad in certain pinks and yellow    .

4. The color I detest is    is Burnt Siera from the Crayola crayon box, I always hated that color .

5. If you were to look in my closet most of the colors you'd see would be   a rainbow of colors, but I would say mainly- black, green, white, gray, peach, and purple .

6. A color that I simply cannot pull off no matter how hard I try is   yellow.  Something about it just looks really weird on me.  Unless it is like a greenish yellow it is not going to work.  .

7.  The color of my favorite dress is   hum my favorite all time dress was my wedding dress which was cream and red.  My favorite everyday dress would be my 3/4 sleeve grey and black dress from NY & Co.

30 Things- Day 8 What are 5 passions you have?

Day 8- What are 5 passions you have?

1. My family-  I am very passionate about my husband and the boys.  I love them very much and love doing things for them and with them.  I also love spending time with my parents.

2. Crafting- I love scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, painting, and most other crafts.  I would love to sew and cake decorate more but I know when we have kids I will have more of a chance.

 3. Baseball- I love baseball!  Specifically the Yankees and the Phillies.  If either team (or both) are in the playoffs I get so excited and nervous.

4. Reading-  I love getting lost in a good book.  Currently I have jumped on the Hunger Games band wagon and decided to give that good a shot.  So far so good.

5. Traveling- I love to travel to tropical locations and cities (with baseball stadiums) around the country.  The years we can't go to Mexico, I love trying to plan a trip to a city that has a major league team so we can explore a new baseball stadium.  This year we are going to Target Field in Minneapolis.  I am so excited because it is a newer ballpark and we get to see the Phillies!

30 Things- Day 7 What is your dream job, and why?

Day 7- What is your dream job, and why?

If I had all the skills in the world and could do whatever I wanted with them then I think my dream job would be a research scientist.  Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a research scientist trying to find the cure for diseases.  But of course I was not the greatest at science so that never happened.  If I had all the knowledge already and did not have to go back to school then that is what I would want to do.  I would want to work for a children's hospital and research cancer, or other life threatening diseases, in a lab.  The thought of test tubes and microscopes is pretty interesting to me.  But a last, that is why they call it a dream.  For now I am pretty pleased being a project manager and will be sticking with that for quite awhile.

Side note: hosting QVC would also be a pretty fun job.  I think I have the skills to talk endlessly about the same product for 5-7 minutes and make it seem way awesome.
