Famous Racing Sausage 5k

Well it seems I missed quite a few recaps. One of the races I try and do every year is the Famous Racing Sausage 5k put on by the Brewers at Miller Park. I love this race because it is well organized, the racing sausages are there, and you get to run on the baseball field. So many perks! This year we had enough people on our team Tour De Sausage to get our names on the back of the shirt. I was the only one not to wear the shirt because it is was so hot outside!

I met up with John, Tracy, and the rest of our team so we could head to the start line. I really wanted to beat my time last year, oh and John also. He beat me last year and I was bitter :). It was warm again this year but not as bad as last year. My other goal was to beat Chorizo. I did manage to pass Hot Dog on the course and give him a little wave as I ran by. I also love, as usual, running through the stadium!

I finished in 34:21, not my best 5k but one of my fastest, oh and I beat John but not Chorizo. I did beat hot dog! No medal at this race, but it is worth it to run with the sausages and through the stadium.

After the race I headed home to wash up and then the three of us met everyone for tailgating and the Brewers/ Mets game.

Brewers Versus Braves- June 2013

Sunday June 23rd Justin and I headed up to Wisconsin to buy more soda at Sprecher and go to the Brewers game. We went to Sprecher and stocked up on soda for us and our friends Nick and Rose. Afterwards we headed right to the ballpark. They had us park in an odd lot at the ballpark but it actually worked in our favor. When we went to leave we got right out. It was Polish night and they gave out a Polish sausage bobble head, super cool. It was over 90 outside and very hot, we even got ice cream to beat the heat. Unfortunately the Brewers lost and Carlos Gomez got injured, but we had a great time. I am so glad we live so close to such a nice ballpark!

Brewers versus Phillies 2013

Sunday June 9th we headed up to Milwaukee for the annual Phillies versus Brewers game. We had an extra ticket so we brought my dad for an early Father's Day present. First stop on the trip was to Sprecher to stock up on some sodas and beer. Then we headed to the stadium.

I love going to this ball park! It was a beautiful day outside so the roof was open.
We saw Bernie Brewer at the game

Took dad's picture with his doppelganger Brat

Love these sausages!

Adventures in Working Out, the Harlem Shake, & the Pope

Today's work out was even better than yesterday. I ran a mile in under 13 minutes and evaded many zombies. I also went the distance and did a second mile quick before going to Ryan's Latin Heat class. Between Latin Heat and running I burned 880 calories today, boo ya! I am glad I am finally getting my groove back with working out.

Today was also eventful in that we elected a new pope and got to see who he was. I am so pleased with the choice of an Argentinian pope and that he is of Italian decent :). I felt a special connection to Pope Benedict because that was the saint of the school I went to. My church's saint was Francis so I am hoping that is a good sign of great things to come.

Lastly I have taken a love of the Harlem Shake craze. Yes it might be a little silly and kind of absurd but I think it is hilarious. The most recent one I saw was of the Cleveland Indians and I think it is the best one yet! Here is the link- http://atmlb.com/10GPRYd.
I end my blog post today with a few cute kitties pics:
