Dells Vacation Part 3 More Water Park and Moosejaw Brewing Company

Tuesday we spent more time in both water parks, it was great to have the extra day to relax. We did manage to get an increase of cuts and bruises on this trip. I flipped backward in my tube in the wave pool and scraped by elbows. We also bumped shins when we went down the mammoths, amongst many other scraps and bumps. We also managed to get a bit of a tan in the wave pool. Never had time to make it to the fitness center but every slide had 70 plus stairs so we got quite a workout!

The one interesting thing of the day was we managed to go on the Hurricane with this lady and her 6 year old daughter. The girl was so little I did not think they would let her on, but they did. As soon as we flew down the slide into the funnel I grabbed that little girls hand and clamped on so she would not go anywhere. When it was over she was scared but loved it!

After hanging out in the water park all day, we went to try a new restaurant to us, Moosejaw Pizza and Brewing Company.
Love these moose mobiles

Cutest delivery cars
Loved the decor

Cute moose hats for sale

What to order?

Loved the light above our table

Great picture the waitress took

Water in mason jars

My beer an apricot ale, so good!

Justin had a milk stout

It's a burger, eat it!

The Rachel, a turkey reuben
Great service, great beer, and good food at Moosejaw. The restaurant was packet for a Tuesday night and now we know why. We will certainly go back!

The beer is brewed upstairs
Day three wrapped up with episodes of Full House, the Nanny, and Friends.

Wednesday we checked out, bought some chocolate at Goody Goody Gum Drops and left Glacier Canyon relaxed and sad to leave the Dells. We were happy to be heading home to see the kitties. We stopped at Dunkin Donuts so I can pick up one of my fall favorites, Pumpkin K Cups and Pumpkin Munchkins. What a great summer vacation, even if it was end of summer!

Running Forward- Summer Running Goals

Keeping up the momentum

So with my first official 5K behind me, I have to keep up the momentum and keep running. Next up is the Dirty Girl Mud run at the end of June. This will require weight training as well so I can get up and over the hurdles.

Yesterday I ran on the treadmill for the first time since Saturday. The knee pain returned in my left knee. It is weird, it is like a soreness more than a stabbing pain and is kinda to the side of my knee. Like it is joint or ligament pain. Whatever it is, it is annoying! I know a lot of the ladies whose blogs I read have been plagued with injuries and I know I can power through.

Even with the knee pain I managed to get through 5 miles on the treadmill, the longest I have gone in awhile. I have found the Nike + app to be a huge motivator when running indoors and out. Who does not love getting little achievements and want to run further/faster to see this:
After Dirty Girl I am hoping to do another 5k or even an 8k or 10k. I want to see how far I can go.

What are your fitness goals for the summer?

With summer right around the corner, I am sure we have lots we want to do. I picked up this cute summer bucket list from The Good Life and made it my own with all the things I want to do this summer.

What do you want to do this summer? Anything fun and new on your list?

Our Vacation Day 1- Minneapolis, MN

I have a lot to say about vacation so I will create one post for each day.  Mainly because they are super picture heavy.  Enjoy!

June 13th, 2012: Time for the much anticipated vacation to finally begin!  We headed on the road at 9:30am on Wednesday with our final destination being Minneapolis, MN, well the suburb of Bloomington.  A place Justin has been to once 15 years ago and I have never been.  I started reading a pretty good book on the way call the Night Circus.

I am not super far into it but so far it is a pretty good read.  About 3/4 the way there we stopped for lunch in Black River Falls at KFC.  Now you might think this is weird but this indeed was my first trip to KFC.  I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was pretty good.  This one had a buffet and on that buffet was fried okra, needless to say I was disappointed you had to buy the buffet to get the okra, damn.
This was inside the KFC

We finally pulled into Bloomington, MN around 3:30pm that afternoon.  We stayed at a very nice hotel called the Best Western Plus, it certainly exceeded my expectation.  I got a good deal on it at only $119, this seemed really reasonable because it was directly across from the mall and it had a pool and full complementary breakfast.

After we checked in we walked across the street to the largest mall in America... the Mall of America!!

Our hotel was right outside the Macy's so it was a simple walk right across the way.  At first I did not realize how big the mall was.  The area near the Macy's is only 2 floors.  Then you turn a corner and it is 4 stories high.  Then you see the amusement park, which is unbelievable.
Microsoft Store
Lego Store
Spongebob Statue

Spongebob!

Flying Dutchman
I really wanted to see Spongebob while we were there, I always loved the cartoons and was so happy when I got to see him.  Some of the fun stores we went to were the Vikings Store:

Not a Viking Fan but the hat was fun.
This sports store seemed to be where all the Giants v Patriots left over tee shirts went to die.

and the Peeps store where I got my mom this haul:

She should be set for awhile with 8 boxes worth.
I also got these two charms from Fossil.  I really wanted the lobster and I did not even know they had the NYC one.

We only spent a few hours at the mall since I knew we were going back Friday.  For dinner I had Quiznos and Justin got Burgerking.  After the mall we headed back to the hotel to go relax in the pool and hot tub.  This awesome indoor pool was part of the reason I picked this hotel and it was worth it!

It had a kiddie pool with zero deepth, a full size adult pool, and a 14 person hot tub all indoors.  We just relaxed there for a few hours then headed to bed to watch XMen First Class, it was pretty good.
