Dells Vacation Part 2 Water Park and Sprecher's Restaurant

Monday, day 2 of our vacation in the Dells started out with more waterpark time. This time we decided to spend some time in the Wild WaterDome, which is the countries largest indoor wave pool at 70,000 square feet. This picture was taken of it at night so it is not the greatest.
The roof is made of glass which allows for year round sun shinning through and tanning. We had so much fun relaxing in the sun and riding the waves every 10 minutes. They have one other ride in this area which is the Dueling Mammoth raft ride which is such fun! After hanging out there for awhile we went back to Klondike Kavern for some more lazy river/ hot tub/ waterslide fun.

All I wanted was a tropical sno, there were signs everywhere advertising it. This stand did not open all 3 days, I guess it is only open on the weekends. No Tiger Blood for me :(

Look out for the Hurricane

For dinner that night we went to a restaurant for our most favorite brewery Sprechers. They had a football special, 3 appetizers and 4 beers for $28. Looks like not a lot of people got the memo because the restaurant was pretty empty, but we were super stoked to be there.
Before dinner, dress from White House Black Market

Ready for dinner!

What to order?
I got this awesome Rooty paper hat

All the beer and soda on tap

Beer #1 Oktoberfest for me, Stout for Justin
We decided on Chicken Nachos

Pretzel Sticks and BBQ Chicken Pizza
Food was excellent and we had so much fun watching the Eagles and the Redskins. The apps were filling enough and there was no need for any main dishes.
Beer #2 for me was Abby Triple, one of my favorites. Justin had the same again. I even got to sample a Sprecher beer I never had, El Ray. I'll be buying that and Oktoberfest when we go to the brewery later this month.
Love this picture of Justin!

Another shot in the Rooty hat

Heading back after a great dinner!

Lots of fun on day 2 and more to be had day 3.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation... Dells 2013 Part 1

Wisconsin Dells 2013
We finally got to take our summer vacation this past Sunday through Wednesday and it lived up to expectation. We were pretty busy this summer and were not able to take our annual vacation until this weekend. Our destination of choice- Wisconsin Dells, WI AKA Waterpark Capital of the WORLD!! We really enjoy going to the Dells and this was our fourth trip there. We stayed at Glacier Canyon at Wilderness Territory.

Sunday we headed out for the Dells and made good time arriving there around 3:30pm. Unfortunately we stopped at the worlds slowest McDonald's in Lake Geneva. When we got to the Dells we went to check at the Tanger's Outlet. We had a great coupon, spend $75 and get a $10 gift card. This is not too hard to do when they have a Coach outlet :). I purchased this super cute new bag:
They wrapped it so nicely like a present.

Love the navy and yellow, so different
So I bought this, got my $10 gift card, and then used it to get a 3/4 length sweater at White House Black Market for only $10, score!

Afterwards we headed straight to the resort to check in. During check in we found out they gave us the same room as last year 4085, good thing we liked that room!

Since we typically go in off season we are able to get a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath condo for pretty cheap. After we un packed we headed off to de stress at the waterpark. We floated around the lazy river, went in the indoor/outdoor hot tub, went on the tube slides, and took on the Hurricane (one of those tornado slides). After we relaxed for a bit we went back to the room to make dinner. We typically cook in the first night to save a bit.
Marie Callendar's lasagna and pretzel breadsticks

Justin, Phil, and Hal Moose
After dinner we watched the Giants loose to Dallas before calling it a night.

Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3.

Five on Friday

1. It's finally Friday! Even after a long weekend and a shorten work week, this week seemed SOOOO long. I am glad I made it through the week!

2. Yesterday I went running with my friend Paula from work. It was nice to have a running buddy and loop around the Savanna. It was my first time running and talking, what a challenge! There were lots of allergens in the air too which did not help. I'm looking forward to our next run together.

3. Goodwill hunting was good to me today. I got a 25% off coupon from donating some items and was looking for just the right deals to spend it one. I got a new Oakley Ski Jacket originally over $200 for $10. I also got Star Wars Risk, I have always wanted to play Risk! I found an Ann Taylor sweater, a Eddie Bauer sweater, and a Pink brand sweatshirt, all for under $30, score!

4. Watching Great and Powerful Oz tonight, not sure how I feel about the movie yet but the colors are amazing!

5. We have really gotten back into watching wrestling and Total Divas. I love how much of a soup opera wrestling is. It is so fun cheering for Daniel Bryan and the Miz each week, even if they are currently getting beat a lot! Interested in seeing where the story lines are going.

September Happenings!

September marks the beginning of my favorite season, fall. We already have so many things on the schedule for this month and it's only the 3rd! Here's some of our September happenings, feel free to share yours!

-. Going to the place in the picture above, Richardson's Adventure Farm for the World's Largest Corn Maze! It's a yearly tradition of ours, so excited to go with Bonnie, Adam, and Carter.

- We are finally going on our summer vacation to Wilderness Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Very much looking forward to floating in a lazy river, going down some water slides, relaxing in the condo, going to the outlet :), and just spending time away.

- Neighborhood block party. We missed the last few years but we will try again this year and hopefully the weather will cooperate. We have some new faces on the street and it would be nice to meet some of them.

- Just joined our local running club so I am hoping to get away from the dreadmill and outside to meet some local runners and hopefully learn from them.

- Grayslake Fall Frolic 5k, looking to see if I can meet or beat my PR from the Autism race. Should be a fun, local run.

- Brewers 10k in Milwaukee, my first official 10k and I am both pumped and scared!! Justin is coming up for support and I am looking forward to running through Miller Park again!

-Spending an afternoon with mom, always a nice time can't wait for that!

Lot's going on in September so far and I am sure much more will be added to the list! How is your September shaping up?

Labor Day, Hooray!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend this past weekend. Our weekend was pretty low key, which is exactly what we were hoping for.

Tuesday- I know not really Labor Day yet, but I finally got my hair cut. What do you think?

Friday- I went to Goodwill to see if I could find any bargains. I ended up getting two bags- one a canvas Lands End and one is a Lucy bag for my gym clothes. I also ended up in the Goodwill for almost an hour due to the monsoon that came. It was coming down so hard it sounded like horses on the roof and water was coming in. On the plus side I was indoors and I ran into my friend Bridget whom I was glad to catch up with! That night we did some errands and came home and relaxed.

Saturday- Slept in some and hung out at home during the day. Guido discovered that the suitcase is his new club house:

At night we went to a few stores to do some shopping and pre order some video games. We went to Toys R Us to get a birthday present and stumbled upon the T-Pain mic and found there are now speakers! Every kid needs one of these sets.

For dinner we went to Ruby Tuesday's where I got the steak and Justin got the new pretzel burger. Both were excellent. I also got a nice Bear's shirt on discount and Kohl's finally had my jeans!
My Bears shirt is like this one with the old logo:
Sunday: We headed to Lake Zurich to go to the newer La Fitness and then to Trader Joe's to go shopping. This La Fitness was so nice compared to ours, all the machines had tvs, nice locker room, and their spin room was stadium style. So jealous! I was only going to do 3 miles on the treadmill but managed to knock out 5.

Looking super sweaty! We got some good stuff at Trader Joe's, such as my new obsession crumpets!! For dinner we made Rachel Ray's NY style mac and cheese, an old favorite!

Where's mine?

During dinner we watched the new Great Gatsby movie, I loved Leonardo as Gatsby!
I found the music and style of filming to be excellent. I remember reading the book and watching the movie in high school, so as soon as I saw this advertised I wanted to see it. It certainly did not disappoint!

Monday- Slept in again! Justin got a hair cut and I cleaned house. The cats rested.

I also played my new Xbox game Disney Infinity, it's pretty fun! For dinner we made Grilled Cheese on the Foreman and Southwest Chicken Weight Watcher Salad, yum!

All and all it was a pretty relaxing weekend. Tuesday was rough going back to work, allergies are getting to me!!

How was your Labor Day weekend, do anything fun?
