Weekend Wrap Up- Wisconsin, Burgers, and Beer Bread

We had a pretty busy, yet fun weekend. Friday we kept it low key with our Taco Bell and Walmart because of having to get up at 4am Saturday.

Saturday I ran my first 10k, you can read about it here. After the run we went to Denny's to enjoy some post race fuel.
My yummy Fit Fare Omelet!

Justin's Slamwich

Pancake Puppies! These were mine, I only ate one and took the rest home.
After Denny's we went to go check out this outside mall they have called Bayshore Town Center. It was kind of like a bigger, nicer version of Streets of Woodfield. It had quite a variety of stores from Apple, Barnes and Nobles, and even a Trader Joe's. Of course I had to go to Trader Joe's and stack up on some treats! After the mall we headed to Sprecher Brewery to refill our stock of beer and soda. We love going to this place, they have some great varieties of both soda and beer. We did a beer and cheese pairing there back in May for our anniversary, you can recap that here. With beer and soda in tow we headed home, where I feel asleep for a much needed nap.

Later Saturday night we went to Target to get some pumpkin M&Ms and other food items. That's where I saw the Chris March Halloween hats. They have been all over instagram and Facebook and I wanted to see them in person.
Super cute but a bit pricy at $15- $25 dollars
After Target we went to dinner at Red Robin, they were having the Oktoberfest burger again this year and I wanted to treat myself to one.

Once burger time was over we pretty much headed home for an early night.

Sunday my parents came over and I made some Weight Watchers Easy Enchiladas for dinner. We had a nice time catching up with them and enjoying some good food. I also made some Sprecher Beer Bread which came out excellent!

Dinner's ready lets go!
How did everyone enjoy their weekend?

Weekend Wrap Up and Pictures!

This week's weekend wrap up is brought to you buy the Phanatic's birthday which is today! For those of you who don't know, I am a Yankee fan by birth. I love the Yankee's! But I became a Phillie phan too as I got older and it started with my love of the Phanatic.

This weekend was one of those that flew by! Friday night we went to the gym and worked out a bit. I ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill with my eyes glued to the tv. CNN had live coverage from Boston and they were getting ready to corner the suspect. We also went to Target to do some shopping, they had some Sims expansions on sale which was nice. I got two I did not have. Then we got Guido and Tobi's birthday presents at the pet store.

Guido and his new mouse

Afterwards we had the usually delicious Taco Bell and headed home.

Saturday was house cleaning day. I did laundry, changed sheets, watched baseball, and cleaned the kitchen. The day went by so fast. I thought it was 2pm and it was 4:15! That night we went to Gurnee Mills and got some exercise in walking around. They are preparing the mall for the new Macy's to open in July and other parts of the mall are getting major face lifts! I got the cutest shirt at Kohl's
Can't wait to wear it with some white shorts and my boat shoes.
We love to go to the Lids LockerRoom and see what random sports team items they have. Here is the randomist item of the night.
For dinner we went to TGI Fridays and had the best dinner we have had there in awhile. We got the Trio Dip and Chips, they have hummus!
For main course Justin had a burger and I got the Sirloin Steak, Mozzarella salad, and broccoli, YUMMY!

Sunday mom and dad came over to hang out and for dinner. Mom and I went Goodwill shopping, I got 4 pairs of shorts, a white tank for Color Run, and 2 tops. Dad and Justin installed new blinds in our bedroom since the old ones broke. For dinner I made this meal I saw on the cover of Food Network Magazine:

We had a great time hanging out with them and over all a good weekend. Just too bad they go by so fast!

How was your weekend? Try any new recipes?

Weekend Wrap-up

Here's hoping everyone had a wonderful weekend this week!

Friday after work, I enjoyed a bit of the Phillie's opening day game at Citizen's Bank Park. Have I told you how much I love MLB.com and being able to watch all the games!

After that I headed to the gym primarily to lift weights, but decided to get a mile in really quick since I did not go to the gym Thursday. Lifting weights went well but I must have been a bit ambitious with the weights as I was sore all weekend :(. That night we did our errands at the mall. I tried looking for running shoes but was overwhelmed with all the options and with the loads of Nike's shoes. All I wanted was some Brooks, New Balance, or Sauconys but no it was Nikeland at Gurnee Mills.  Shoeless we went on to Taco Bell where I was glad to be able to enjoy my tacos with meat since lent is over. When we got home we watched the Dictator, which was way funnier than I thought it was going to be.
If you love Sacha Baron Cohen then you will love this!

Saturday we did some things around the house then headed out for the night.

We went to Dick's where I finally found my new running shoes. I decided on the Brooks Ravenna 4's as they were highly rated and very comfortable. It's so hard to try and decide on shoes in like 5 - 10minutes but I think these will work.
We also went to 5 below and founds loads of run stuff and went to Best Buy and got a Roku so we can watch the baseball games upstairs. Did I tell you I love the MLB tv :). At Toysrus we found this little gem that made me think of my friend Sarah in Peoria.
and Justin got these:

For dinner we tried Bakers Square for the first time. We have been wanting to go to this place for years but kept forgetting about it. Well it was so worth it!
Part of my pick 3 dinner, loved the strawberry salad! Justin had a Club Salad

Justin's French Silk Pie

My Celebration Pie, Yum!!

Yum yum, we'll be back for sure.
Sunday Justin had to work so I went on a little run outside. It was still a bit cold out so I only lasted a little over a mile. I need to stop telling myself it is just a mile, because every mile counts.

Afterwards I finally went and got my haircut. It only took me 6 or so months to get it cut again.

Then we had Stromboli's for dinner, watched Archer, and relaxed!

How was your weekend? Do anything run or new?
