Weekend wrap up and Cat Pics!

Note this was typed using the blogger app:

This weekend we headed down to Deer Creek IL to see Justin's parents and celebrate the 4 th of July with our friends. Justin's tooth had been bothering him so we were unsure Thursday if we were going to be able to go, but he got some antibiotics and after work Friday we were on our way.  We stopped in Pontiac for some yummy Taco Bell and got to Deer Creek a bit after 10.

Saturday we hung out with Justin's mom in the morning and played with Dandy cat and Shadow dog. Dandy may look as big as Guido and Tobi but he weighs about half the amount.  We headed to Sarah and Joel's around 330pm. It was nice seeing all of our friends, catching up, and enjoying some BBQ. We played with our friends little girl and boy which is always a good time! After a lot of people left they light the firepit, as it was actually getting cold!

Sunday Justin's dad came back from being out of town so we caught up with him. We ordered some of our favorite pizza Monicals. It did not disappoint as usual! We headed home and got back about 6pm where we just relaxed the rest of the night. It was a nice weekend and a great time with friends and family.

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Happy Fat Tuesday and Paczki Day to all!

This year we ordered two King Cakes (one to bring to work and one for home) and a Maple Bacon Paczki from Lovin Oven Cakery in Round Lake Beach. Growning up in Memphis we always had king cake at school on Fat Tuesday. Oh the maple bacon paczki was so good! As usual I thoroughly enjoyed the king cake as well.

I brought the one king cake into work today and apparently almost all of my co workers were leery of the king cake, they had never heard of a king cake, were confused on why it was colorful, and of course were a bit freaked out that there is a baby inside. After insuring them it was like a colorful danish and that no one would choke on the baby, people dug in and enjoyed the cake. I guess next year when Khalid (he found the baby this year) and I bring in the cakes we will need to provide a little history on the king cake tradition! Eat up friends!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter or Passover with their families this weekend.  We celebrated ours today by watching Phillies vs. Pirates on MLBtv.com.  Unfortunately the Phillies lost, but it was a good game none the less.  We got to see a little of the Yankee game too but they also lost and the Cardinal game and thankfully they at least won.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Wishing everyone a happy and safe St. Patrick's Day!!

We had a good day today.  Justin worked and I went to an awesome Aqua Fit class (I know I will feel it tomorrow).  Afterward I went to Goodwill (will post that this weekend) and ran into my neighbor there which was funny.  We also cleaned out some stuff from the house to donate to Goodwill tomorrow.  We talked to Justin's parents on the phone for a bit and got caught up on what they are up to.  Tonight we had dinner at Last Chance Saloon and both got green Miller Lights.
They were so GREEN! I had cabbage and corn beef and Justin had a turkey and bacon club.  It was super hot today and very nice out.  What a great St. Paddy's Day.  Friday I went to the city for work, it was beautiful outside.  I took the train in and read The Aviary on the way there and back (I managed to finish most of the book on the 3 hour round trip train ride and the rest that night).
At our downtown office before heading to the meeting.
I hate to say it but I caved and bought a Shamrock Shake, it was so good.  Plus I was burning up because it was 80 outside.

I also got these cool things for our soup dispensers at Bath and Body Works.

Also our chopper came and I can not wait to use it tomorrow when we make stuffed chicken.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!! Today was a good day at work.  We had our monthly birthday celebrations.  Eddie, Mike, Lisa, and I went to Subway to take advantage of FebruANY and get our $5 footlongs.  I bought Little Miss and Mr Valentine's and passed them out to the team.  Everyone seemed to think they were cute.
Here are some examples of Little Miss and Mr.  I had the books as a kid.

They are just too cute!  Justin made me a Valentine's card with a custom poem in PowerPoint which I thought was so sweet.  Now we are going to just relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.  I hope everyone had a great day!
