Saturday and Week update

Well now that we are back from our trip I need to try and get back into the swing of things blogging.  I know I still need to write an update on how the trip went but have been a bit busy.  So stay tuned!  Not much happened during the week.  Went to the gym twice and for a walk twice.  Hoping to go to the gym today as well.  Yesterday was a somewhat busy/lazy Saturday.  Justin had to work.  I went to JoAnn's Friday and got a bunch of scrapbooking stuff for my Mexico album.  Yesterday I picked up some more pictures at Walgreens and a few more stickers and paper at Hobby Lobby.  I also went to GardenFresh to get some tasty veggies.  Last night we went to eat at one of my favorite places, Sweet Tomatoes.  If you have never been I highly recommend it.

This week we got two DVD deliveries.  Bullsh*t Season 8 disk 1 was waiting when we returned from our trip.  We watched the whole thing Monday night and returned it Tuesday.  Disk two came Thursday and we watch it all that night.  Too bad this is the last season of that show.

Friday my department wore our Manchester United jerseys to work to support the big game yesterday.  Unfortunately Manchester United lost the UEFA cup to Barcelona yesterday and I fell asleep during the second half (the game was at 1pm CST no excuses there).  At least they one the Barclay's Cup but no UEFA title :(.  Oh well maybe next year.

So today will be filled with going to the gym, Walmart, thunderstorms, and cooking this new chicken dish from Weight Watchers.  Got to get back in the weight loss mindset.

1. If I could get away somewhere for the weekend I would go to NYC and I would bring my dresses, swimsuits, Justin, and the Phans.

{two} if you could be any other person for one day, who would it be?Princess Catherine, just to see what it is like to be royalty, not to be married to William.

{four} do you remember your 1st grade teacher?No but I lived in New Jersey at the time.  I remember my second grade teacher in Memphis.

{five} who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?My mom, especially if Justin is working.

{six} were you ever in a school talent show?Yeah, I was in a few of them.  I did tap.

{seven} who is your favorite fictional character?Alice, from Alice in Wonderland

{eight} can you open your eyes underwater? I used to but now if I did my contacts would come out.

{nine} do you look at the keyboard when you type?Occasionally when I keep messing up typing a word to reposition my hands.

{ten} when was the last time you took a nap?Right before we went to Mexico we were packing Justin's clothes and watching tv and I feel asleep.

Mexico Monday

So last week was our 6th anniversary trip to Mexico and it was WONDEFUL!! It was the perfect mix of our last two trips.  We had some time to ourselves and we also met some cool people.  I'll probably write more about the trip later this week but here are some pics.

Some are digital but some are in print.  Digital- OK and Cosmo.  Print- Rachel Ray, Better Homes and Garden, Self, Shape, Weight Watchers, Maxim, P-boy, More, and Maximum PC.

4. did you sell all your belongings because you thought the world was ending yesterday?

Nope!

5. what's your beauty obsession?

Using WEN on my hair.

6. if you could only wear one designer/brand for the rest of your life...what would it be?

White House Black Market

7. what's your summer must have?

baseball!

8. do you make weekly dinner menus?

Nope, we usually do frozen meals during the week, Taco Bell Friday, Sat eat out somewhere, and I cook Sunday.

New Favorite Shows

So I just wanted to highlight some of my new favorite shows.  As usual they are all reality shows because that is what I like.  But it seems the probably appeal to a bit older age range, but I love them!

Day Off

Tomorrow I have the day off and I am so excited.  Not too many interesting things planned but I need to get a haircut and of course I want to go to Goodwill.  I am having withdrawal, I have not been in two weeks :).  Other than that I will probably straighten up the house and hang out with the Guido cat.

{one} what profession have you always admired?Pilots and Police, both have very important jobs and people's safety is in their hands.  Iam all about safety!
{two} what would the title of your memoir/biography be if it was written today?Probably something about how silly and strange I am like "Crazy Cat Lady and her Phan Phamily"
{three} how far do you commute to work?Well I was working from home 3 days a week but since I switched positions I have to go in every day until I learn my new role.  It is about 45 minutes each way I guess.  Nothing in the Chicago area is really "close"{four} are your earlobes attached or detached?Detached.
{five} do you eat the unpopped kernels of popcorn at the bottom of the bag?Yep
{six} what is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?For our wedding we got this bath towels with horse and buggys on them, I use them for floor towels when you come out of the shower.  Hey atleast we use them!
{seven} what is one tv show that you wish hadn’t been cancelled?Mama's Family, I used to love that show I think I have seen all the episodes.
{eight} what is something that you are saving money for right now?New shower since the door broke.
{nine} what hobby would you like to take up?It would be nice if I was really good at sewing and had the room to do it.
{ten} how many times a year do you get really dressed up?This year a few times with our trip, but really other than work I only get dressed up for weddings.  Last year we went to two.

Well we are in May so the trip is nearing.  Sometime this month we will be in Mexico!!

Sunday- Relaxing

Went to Kohl's to get Justin shorts for the trip and to Walmart to get stuff for diner.  Then we went to Best Buy because my laptop went on sale.  Got the difference ($84) back on a gift card, score!  After that I did some laundry while watching Manchester United beat Chelsea!

Tonight we were going to have Spanish Rice with Quesadillas.  Well I ruined the rice some way, but thankfully the quesadillas came out ok or we would have been calling for pizza.  Now we are watching the Phillies v Braves, go Phillies!! Happy Mothers Day to all you moms out there including mine!

Saturday, Saturday

This Saturday Justin and I went to the gym and the bank to take care of some stuff.  At night we went to Verizon to get international roming put on my phone.  Then we went to Gurnee Mills were we both got some new shoes.  I got some shape up sandals that will be nice enough for work.  With the 1/2 discount Justin's sneakers were only $20, score.  Then we went to Ruby Tuesdays for a yummy dinner.  I had a good drink with Peach, Mango, and OJ.  I also enjoyed the salad bar, cheese biscuits, and Zucchini cake minis.  All very yummy!  Then we came home and watched a comedy classic, Airplane!

1. What I love most about my home is everything, it is our style and just the way we like it.

{one} when was the last time you used a pay phone (if ever)?Probably in High School or 8th grade.  I remember my friend and I called this guy from school while we were at Celebration Station.
{two} did you ever fail a subject in school?Had to drop Spanish and Religion in college even thought I went to Catholic school growing up and was in the Spanish honor society.
{three} where do you go to get your favorite hamburger/cheeseburger?Honestly I love the ones we make ourselves the most.  Second would be the ones at Kampai restaurant in El Dorado Royale resort.
{four} have you ever served jury duty?I did have to go downtown but did not get assigned to a case. I almost did.  It was a horrible experience and I am so glad I no longer live in Cook County :)
{five} how old were you when you moved out of your parents’ house?In college I lived in the dorms all 4 years, but I actually moved out when I got married at 23.
{six} what is your favorite color to wear?Green
{seven} do you have a pair of shoes that you wear all the time?My Skechers shape ups.
{eight} do you enjoy talk radio?No not really, I can only tolerate the B96 and Kiss FM DJs talking in the morning between songs.
{nine} if you could turn one unhealthy food into a healthy one, what food would it be?Mexican or Italian food of any kind.
{ten} who is the best speaker you’ve ever heard in person?Not heard a lot but Bill Cosby was pretty good at graduation.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

1. My New job so far.  I started Monday and I already feel very welcomed!  I have been supporting my old job for the past few days and it will continue through the end of next week.  I am enjoying learning about the new job and can't wait to start doing actual work!
2. My trip is coming soon!
3. That it looks like it is finally going to get warmer next week!
4. More MLB Pink stuff, love all the Yankees and Phillies stuff!!

Parking Wars

Have you guys seen Parking Wars on A&E?  I am addicted.  I started watching the season on Netflix and then was excited to see the show is still on and has new episodes.  Originally the show only took place in Philadelphia but now there are segments in Detroit.  I like the Philly crew the best.  I really like the boot crew of Garfield and Sherry.

  It is amazing what excuses people will say just to not own up to parking where they shouldn't.  Good thing when we went sight seeing in Philly we parked in New Jersey and took the PATCO train or we might have gotten to meet the crew in person.  Parking in Philly is insane!  If you have a chance check out the show Saturdays on A&E at 10/9 central.
